A 1000 wala: a long string of crackers joined end to end in a single box. Hang it from a pole or lay it out straight on open ground, clear of walls, vehicles and overhead wires, and light the far end. It crackles along the whole string in one long, rolling rush of sound, the classic way to open a festival morning or welcome a procession.
